How to choose pure honey in Pakistan

Table of Contents
"Compare the label, floral source, batch details and relevant test evidence before buying honey."
Choosing honey starts with traceable product information. Read the ingredients and net weight, check who packed it, and ask about the batch when you need evidence beyond the label. Colour, thickness or a social-media home test cannot establish the full composition of a jar.
What should a honey buyer check?
Look for a clear product name, ingredient information, net weight, batch identification and best-before details. Ask the seller about the stated floral source and origin. Keep a photograph of the label if you contact the business later. The information should identify the particular product you are buying, rather than a different pack or an unrelated certificate.
What does a laboratory report tell you?
A report describes the sample submitted and the tests performed. Check its sample name, date, laboratory identity and measured parameters. Ask whether it relates to the batch on your jar. A beekeeping training certificate explains training; a fee receipt records payment. Neither is the same thing as a composition analysis of that batch. Even a genuine analysis should be read within the scope of the tests it contains.
Does crystallisation mean honey is adulterated?
Honey can be liquid, partly crystallised or crystallised. The Codex honey standard recognises these different consistencies. Texture alone is therefore not a reliable reason to accept or reject a product. If the appearance changes, consult the pack guidance and contact the seller with the batch details.
How do floral source and price help?
Sidr and multifloral are descriptions of floral source. Compare product information and the evidence behind the description. When comparing prices, use the same net weight: divide the price by the number of grams, then multiply by 100 for a price per 100g. Delivery charges and packaging can affect the total order cost.
How do I compare Ajwad honey packs?
Open the Sidr and Gul Bahar product pages to compare the currently listed weights, packaging and prices. Ask our team for product-specific origin or batch information when a detail is important to your purchase. Follow the storage instructions on the pack and keep its label with the honey after opening.
Source and further reading
Codex Standard for Honey, CXS 12-1981 defines honey and describes its composition and consistency. It does not certify a particular Ajwad product or batch.
Ajwad honey sample report
Read the NIH honey report and results. Report FAL/274 FM/499, reported 7 August 2026, concerns a sealed 500gm honey sample. Its batch and expiry fields are not stated, and the report does not identify a Sidr floral source. The reported result applies within its named sample and test scope.
